VoCube

Vocube is an augmented reality language learning app concept that explores how vocabulary learning can become more intuitive, playful, and embedded in everyday life. Users can point their device at objects to instantly identify and save vocabulary in their target language, receive pronunciation feedback through speech recognition, and engage with a social learning ecosystem by sharing and discovering learning moments from other users.

As this project is currently in progress, the focus so far has been on concept development, user experience exploration, and defining the product vision.

Problem

What challenge do Anna and Ella face?

Anna and Ella are language lovers! They are visiting Spain and would like to learn vocabulary in Spanish, but it can be a hassle staring at their phones to use translating apps or to rely on a local friend (if they are lucky enough to have one!).

That's where Vocube comes in!

Solution

Vocube is an Augmented Reality language learning app designed for language lovers like Anna and Ella. They can point their device at objects to instantly see and save corresponding vocabulary words in their target language. They can get feedback on their pronunciation with speech recognition technology. They can share their captured moments with other users, and expand their vocabulary and enhance their language learning experience by viewing and learning from images captured by others.
